dc.description | Evergreen, March 28… My dear Doctor, W George Turner has come in this morning decided to start for home today_. I had intended to write you a long letter but must wait and do so by mail. I have been intolerably busy since my return_ made a very hasty trip to Galveston last week. There is not be got in Galveston or Houston, either curved scissors or lancet. I made a thorough personal examination in all the pocket cases:_ as for amputating cases there are none._ I have been so busy overseeing that I have not had time to decide on what I will do during the summer. I shall certainly spend some time at Evergreen_ shall be pretty much alone; _ so come soon and we will have a good time together. I will send to Williams for scissors & lancet _ and will make up a case of books for you._ I now have an oversee that will enable me to leave home _ or to stay at home._ you shall hear from me soon. Remember me with much regard to Mr. W Terrell and young the young lady. Your old friend, Ashbel Smith | en_US |
