The Postcard Collection is comprised of over 5,000 unused and postmarked cards depicting a variety of medical buildings: hospitals, medical schools, clinics, sanatoriums, asylums, health resorts, etc. All 50 states and nearly 1,100 cities are represented with dates ranging from 1904-1994. The collection documents the changing styles in hospital architecture and gives a peek into the lives of the correspondents as they briefly chronicle daily experiences or traumatic illnesses.
