The Postage Stamp Collection includes approximately 100,000 postage stamps and related items such as first day covers, artist’s proofs, and souvenir sheets. The stamps cover different subjects: individual scientists and physicians; hospitals; health-care organizations; public health programs; and important discoveries in the biomedical sciences. This international collection dates from the early 1900s to the late 1980s.

In 1978, the Moody Medical Library acquired the philatelic collection of Dr. Karl F. Meyer (1884-1974). He was a veterinarian who spent over 60 years studying a wide range of infectious diseases. The well-known stamp collector mounted and annotated his collection of stamps in topical binders. Each binder is represented here as it's own collection.

In 1993, the Moody Medical Library accepted a donation of stamps from Dr. Morris M. Weiss, a cardiologist in Louisville, KY.
