Abstract

Postcard of the U.S. Veterans' Hospital at Bay Pines in St. Petersburg, Florida. "Situated in a tropical setting, overlooking Boca Ceiga Bay and the Gulf Beaches, the U.S. Veterans' Home and Hospital is considered one of the most ideally located and finest in the country. The main hospital and administration offices shown here are of Mediterranean architecture and are the largest of a group erected on the 500 acre tract, at a cost of $2,000,000."

Description
A used postcard of the U.S. Veterans' Hospital at Bay Pines located in St. Petersburg, Florida. Written on the back, left side, "Hi Folks: Here I am again in the hospital. Don't know how long I will be here. There are 1500 patients here. They are swell here to me. Thanks for everything. Rick." Written on the back, right side, "Mr. & Mrs. Herbert Hoerner. Nelson Street. Chambersburg, Pa." One two cent stamp of John Adams on the back, upper right corner. "HIRE THE HANDICAPPED IT'S GOOD FOR BUSINESS," is stamped on top of the Adams stamp. Postmarked on October 15, 1952.
