Abstract

Postcard of the Hoff Memorial Fountain in Washington, D.C. "Hoff Memorial Fountain, erected in 1935, located at the main entrance to the Administration Building, Walter Reed General Hospital, Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C. Erected in memory of Colonel John Van Rensselaer Hoff, MC, USA, famous military surgeon who died in 1920, the fountain is surrounded by tulips of many varieties donated by people of the Netherlands following World War II."

Description

A used postcard of the Hoff Memorial Fountain that sits at the entrance of the Walter Reed Hospital. Written on the back, left side, " Dear Aunt Nellie, This picture shows you the Fountain in front of the hospital. You have the card Jane sent to you, with the tulips on it. I am having a wonderful time here. Love and best wishes. Jennie." Written on the back, right side, "Mrs Edson Vandermay, Browertown Rd, Little Falls, N.J." One cent stamp of George Washington located on the back, upper, right corner. Postmarked on November 25, 1949.
